The hallmark of any decent claypot rice is that you should be assailed by the smokey roasted rice aroma over wood fire, even before you can spot it. And this one does. They learnt their craft from another iconic claypot rice master and up the ante here. They of course use old grains and it comes with just enough of roasty grains at the edge. Their toppings of Chinese sausage, chicken and salted fish with their special black soy sauce, can make foodies cry. Of course it takes time to do this and if you are not crazy over that 20 minutes (minimum) wait for this pot of pleasure… walk on my friend. They won’t blame you.
