The chef hails fromHong Kong and roosted here decades ago and has an appropriate pride in his work (just chat with him and you'll know). His menu has a hearty selection of familiar Cantonese family fare like steamed Goby fish head, 3-egg spinach soup, prawn paste chicken and the good ol' steamed pork patty with salted fish. But hardly anyone will miss out on his signature roast duck – it comes juicy and with a roasty crispy skin (when hot and fresh off the oven) and slip-off-the-bone tenderness. It is not done with red colouring and the natural warm and brown hues shine through. They use a meaty duck and each chunk is a delight to bite into. But note, he only makes a limited amount each day so good luck. The cha siew comes in chunky cuts on a platter, and it is well marinated with bold hints of sugar, wine and fish sauce. His roast pork is also a hit with customers but ranks just below his duck and cha siew.
