Vegetarian

There are quite a few vegetarian stalls here and the number is growing by the day. We list the Indian-style vegetarian fare (bread, thosai, dhal and lots of coconut) and the Chinese-style vegetarian fare which usually involves mock meat. The Chinese vegetarian stalls are especially popular during the first and fifteenth moon of the lunar calendar as Buddhist (who form the largest religious group here), go meatless on those two days a month.
