This is their first outlet outside of Bangalore. This chain began almost a century ago (in 1924) and the family introduced Western-style cleanliness and efficiency when they visited restaurants in Europe back in the day and observed their ways. Their fare is slightly different (although the menu hawks the usual favourites), like Bisi Bele Bhath, an Indian risotto of sorts to put it in new world terms. It comes nicely spiced and with lentils and vegetables, accented with nutmeg and lifted by tamarind pulp. The little cup of ghee placed atop is a DIY (which begs questions from hardcore vegetarians), but this one is a symphony in the mouth and has a tang with raitha splashed over. The Rava Dosa comes well pan- roasted with touches of curry leaves and cumin with a tangy chutney. The Idlis and Puris are all a few notches above the ordinary.
