The daily queues of old fussy regulars tell you something is always right about their food. It is so humble and done agreeably well and has a comforting home-feel about it. The array of about 20 freshly done on site dishes is arresting. These items go fast: soft plain steamed belly pork with hae bi hiam (shrimp floss sambal) and a lime to squeeze over, red wine lees chicken (gently perfumed with the lees, fresh and moist), and garlic fried clams with basil, a rare item in such stalls and the freshness of the razor clams shines through each bite. If you must have fish for such cuisines, their steamed red snapper served with braised salted mustard greens is the one to have. Prices are still very affordable as they cater to old retired folks in this residential area.
