The boss here used to work for Kwong himself till he went on semi-retirement and into a cottage food supply business. He now gets his supply from his ex-boss and partner, and this is easily one of the best Chinese pork satay (especially the pork belly version) in Singapore. The fatty pork satay comes huge, thick, and beckoning, and when you dip it in the pineapple-laced peanut sauce… the skies open up and sing for you. The sweet, spicy, and savoury accent will get you and the hint of blue ginger in the marinade is blissful. Order the limited belly pork version and you will be sated, but the usual version is also a people pleaser. You must be patient, as they grill one or two orders at a time in their little grill behind and it’s a popular stall. Order that cold drink or beer, and down it with their satays. Of late, due to inflation and supply costs, his belly pork satay comes a tad thinner but no less moreish.
