A Hakka meal of tofu stuffed with a patty of minced pork and/or fish paste. Hawkers also stuff chillies, brinjals, dried tofu, peppers, mushroom and more. It can come in a soya bean soup/ikan bilis or served dry with chilli sauce. Starches like rice or noodles are ordered separately if you so desire. Often they offer a range of soups to pair it with- like laksa or tom yum.

Golden Mile Special Yong Tau Foo
505 Beach Rd #B1-44, Golden Mile Food Ctr (Map) 9.45am – 1.30pm
Sun & Wed
It’s one of the last few hand -made yong tau foo stalls left in Singapore. They make them on site each morning at 7am, and only a few items are offered. The ones that need to be warmed all the time, are left simmering on low heat in a huge round pot of soup, very old school- like fish balls, pork skins tofu etc … You pick what you like, and they serve it up dry with chilli sauce or in a broth. The classic items include fish paste stuffed tofu, puff tofu, fish balls, pork skin, bean skin rolls, with some vegetables etc. Have that with some noodles or rice and it is a Singapore style Hakka tradition.
