They really offer both nasi padang and nasi Melayu with a blend of traditional Padang fare like rendang and sambal goreng and Melayu dishes like sambal fish cakes, sausages, clams and even greens like broccoli. They pack them in everyday because the prices are very reasonable, and the dishes are executed diligently. One Melayu style dish that stood out was the Ikan Assam Pedas (Batu Pahat style). They use stingray and it is done sans sugar and the light sweetness of the rice pairs with it perfectly. It was just sour and spicy. They do a sweetish yet spicy beef rendang which has a soft texture, more Melayu than Padang in style. Also noteworthy is the Ikan Korma, fish done in rich rempah redolent curry. They offer a black kicap sambal dip, not just the usual sambal, and it makes a difference. Their fried chicken, rained on with a ladle of crispy dough bits, is so easy to like and devour.
