The second they open, a patient queue forms, and it moves fast. Their laksa broth is made ahead and rested to enhance the flavour. It is different from local style laksa. This Sarawak laksa version has a complex rempah base that leans more towards a curry base with ingredients like cardamom, nutmeg and cumin, and the usual sambal base spices. It comes very smooth and is distinctly different from the Katong style. Thin beehoon is used and don’t expect to find cockles in there. The crunch coming from the sprouts is a delight to the bite. Two mid-sized prawns, freshly blanched, sit atop and you'll wolf this down in under 5, trust us.
