It's essentially a big mashed potato ball stuffed with minced beef sitting in a bowl of beefy beef soto (broth). They are generous with the stuffing and even comes with a few extra chunks of beef or brisket of you are lucky to get them. The julienned slices of onions, just quick blanched, lends a nice foil to the beefy goodness here. They also offer an original style lamb roti john. (See Roti John section).

Shilla inherited her satay skills from Pak Sam, who once held fort with his father at the legendary original satay club by the old Alhambra theatre at Beach Road way back when. She took it a few notches up and came up with her stunning Soto with a huge mash potato ball stuffed with minced beef, brushed with egg wash and fried for texture. It's even more stunning when you notice she places a fried fluffy afro egg atop the whole show. Her soto is also one of the best in town, with light accents of salted vegetables, an old granny trick now largely forgotten.
