They use the gloriously sweet, tangy and creamy Pisang Raja variety for the fried banana and that will get you hooked if you have even a trace of a sweet tooth. Their batter has touches of tuber starch together with rice flour which gives a crispy and gently gummy bite. The star item in this fried fruit and tuber fritter stall is the 3-in-1 nian gao, a sweet glutinous rice flour cake sandwiched between slices of yam, battered then deep fried. This is rich and delightful with each slow bite you take (the glutinous cake will slow you down). But eat them quick, the crispiness does not hold for long.
