They are a little chain but this is the popular outlet and they make one of the most unctuous mee chang kueh around. Trivia- once, two furloughed pilots came asking for work and to learn this art of making this traditional Chinese pancake and was hired. The dough has a nice, but not too think, layer of airy, eggy and sweetish dough. It is achived by using a touch of yeast and it is not so heavy to the bite. The sugar laced roasted and crushed peanut fillings (not so sweet and just nice) is generous and gives such a nice texture. They have a red bean and a orange sugared grated coconut and the Peanut and Peanut Butter rendtion which we like because of the light creamy texture it lent in the palate.

Mr and Mrs Teng are familiar faces in the area and their stall is an name for Mee Chang Kueh at this part of Singapore. Just like before, they begin operations at an ungodly 3.30am four times a week, making and pan baking these vegetarian snacks on site. Their dough skin is thick and very soft yet has a firmness on the outside, so comforting and very old school. They offer a few flavours aside from the traditional peanut and sugar version. There's orh nee (sweet yam paste), red bean, pandan green bean paste and even black sesame peanut- which comes in the form of a round shape cake with those fillings. There's always a line and these old time regulars buy in bulk very often, so be patient, as they make them fresh as they go along each day.
