A milky and slightly spicy Indonesian dish of steamed rice cakes (lontong) served in a vegetable-laden coconut curry, topped with serundeng (the spicy roasted grated coconut), eggs, tofu and sambal. The lontong goreng is the fried version of this light curry dish.

Their lontong has all the right notes, not too watery or light nor too dense, pretending to be some watered-down curry. You can taste the rempah or spice paste used in the spiced light curry or kuah and it comes with some kick from the use of pounded dried chillis. The coconut milk portion is just on the right side of too-much. The braised cabbage, egg, rice cakes and tofu all add to the overall food love. If you need, ask them to spoon an extra bit of sambal in and light up the whole pleasure with the added heat. Their main item at the stall is Nasi Padang but that’s another moreish story.
