The chicken may look a little lighter than those shiny dark brown ones out to attract attention, but it’s not lacking in texture and flavour. This decades old stall sees a queue every business hour. Their trick- they soak the soy braised chicken in warm sauce and hangs it up only when the queue thickens (which is constant act). The juiciness and softness hold up when they chop up these slippery and uber moist chicken and place them over the supremely al dente and softly crunchy noodle (say “QQ”). The sauce, added with mild sambal at the side, sesame oil and soy sauce, is put together only when served, not from a pre-mixed pot of it. Do not miss their sui kao or prawn dumplings- one of the best we’ve had in a long while. we counted at least three little crunchy sweet prawns meshed with the minced pork and water chestnuts bit and black wood ear fungus.
